I watched my sister, when she warped her hands around Edward's neck. He wanted to die, because he believed Bella was dead. How foolish. Thanks to Alice and my sister, Edward doesn't reveal himself to the humans surrounding us in the square, around the fountain. The city is seen celebrating Saint Marcus' Day, the day when St. Marcus supposedly drove all vampires away from the city. Volterra is a town in Tuscany, Italy, where the Volturi reside. In other circumstances, I might enjoy the city and the celebrating.
But Edward broke another rule nonetheless, and because of his foolishness, now the Volturi know about us. It's forbidden for us, humans knowing about vampires. Now we have two options, die, or turn into like one of them.
"I'm going to kill you myself, if they don't, Edward. Shit! It's not some kind of Romeo and Juliet story, this is our fucking life, and you don't even consider what you caused for Bella... and for me."
"I thought she was dead. I don't wanted live in a world, where she doesn't exist."
"Sienna..." Bella's expression was so painful and sad, but I find myself don't care.
"No, Bells, he was selfish. Fine, he thought you were dead, but what about me? We have to face the Volturi, don't we?" My anger vanished, just to take its place of concern. Bella and I were twins, not identical, but we have our similarities, at least in our looks. Like our hair, but mine was always a little longer, a little curlier. Bella was more like our father, and I was more like our mother. But oh, our personalities can't have more different. While Bella was quiet, I was loud, but I have to admit, we were both very stubborn.
"It's going to be oke." Alice tried her best, but I see the concern on her face. Three vampires, two men, and a very short, blonde women come forward to us. Edward started arguing with them, but it was so pointless. I held up my hand, and they immediately fell silent.
"We don't want the Volturi to wait, are we? Can you please go forward..." I looked at the blonde vampire, and a small smirk appeared at the corner of her mouth.
"Jane, and yes, please come." We followed her through the castle, into a very impressive and large hall.
"It’s not without effort," Edward said in a strained voice.
"I can see that," The man chuckled, and I almost smiled too. Such a lively personality for a vampire, it was almost comical.
"Aro can read every thought I’ve ever had with one touch." Edward explained to Bella and me, and then he turned back to Aro. "And now you know everything. So, get on with it."
"You’re quite the soul-reader yourself, Edward. Though you can’t read Bella’s thoughts. Or hers." His eyes flickered towards me for a moment, then turned back to Bella. He reached for my sister's hand to try to read her mind, as he had Edvard's earlier. The seconds stretched long, and then suddenly he let go of my sister's hand.
"Very well. I'm curious myself too." Aro smiled at my response, and then I accepted his hand. Our eyes were connected, brown with crimson. Aro gently pulled me closer to him, and placed his other hand on mine. Our eyes were still locked, and I felt a light pull toward Aro. I saw the same surprise on his face that I felt. I chuckled a little. "You have beautiful eyes, Aro. Like rubies, painted with blood. Magnifico."
"So poetic, mia bella." Aro laughed, then his eyes found mine again. "I saw nothing. I'm curious if you, and your sister are immune to all the gifted.
"No!" Edward shouted, then dropped to the ground, his eyes wide with pain. Bella panicked and tried to reach Edward, but a vampire was beside her in an instant, holding her in place.
"Please, please stop! Don't hurt him!"
"Jane." The pain was still on Edward's face, but now he was still on the ground. The little blonde, Jane's gaze was on Aro.
"Master."
"Edward just protecting my sister, please forgive him." I said to Aro, then I turned my gaze to my sister. "Bells, come on. You and me, we were always an enigma. I want to know, if we are immune to Jane, and the other vampires' gift as well."
"The girl may be foolish, but I have to admit, brother, she has balls." My eyes turned to the blonde vampire on the throne, and I can't help myself, when a little smirk appeared on my face. He must be Caius, and the other Marcus. Bella just stood there nervously, then nodded.
"Jane, dear." Aro said, and the girl immediately turned her sharp gaze from Edward to us.
"It may be going to hurt a little." I waited, but the so-promised pain never come. And then Aro laughed, with a gleeful, childlike laugh as he clapped his hand together.
"Remarkable! They confound us all."
"That’s true," Aro agreed sadly. "If only it were Edward’s intention to give Isabella immortality."
"Mesmerizing." Aro said after a couple of seconds. "To see what you have seen, that which hasn’t happened.”
"Some visions were new." Alice said. "But from the moment we met Bella, I knew."
Aro nodded, then turned to my sister. "Do you have a date in mind?"
"And what we do with you, mia bella?" Aro turned toward me.
"I don't know if the Cullens are willing to turn me too." My gaze flickered toward Alice and Edward, but not too long before I turned my gaze back to Aro.
"We can turn you, you will make for an intriguing immortal with your gift."
"You want me to join the Volturi?" My eyes widened, and I heard my sister's gasp. The offer was alluring, compared to when mere minutes ago I thought we going to die. Aro seemed hopeful, eager even, and I felt that gentle pull again. He must felt too, because his expression changed. A slight surprise, like earlier but there was something else. Something more serious, more primal.
Marcus, who had been sitting silently on his throne, now leaned forward. "You are unique, like the rest of us, we can give you a purpose, if you accept my brother's offer, mia bambino."
"Or you can die," Caius said, but there was a little smirk in the corner of his mouth.
"I accept your offer, Aro."
"Molto bene! Very good!" Aro stepped closer to me, and leaned to my ear. He put his hand on my shoulder and I shivered, his touch was cold. But that was just partly the reason why I shivered from his touch. "Immortality going to suit you, mia bella. Mia Sienna."
"Sí, Aro..." I was lost. This man was something else entirely. An enigma, just like me, and I wanted to solve this enigma. I wanted to know more about this man. "I need a few weeks to sort things out at home before I come back to Italy."
"Jane go with you to make sure everything goes well when you come back. Given the Cullen's recklessness with our rules, I'm sure you understand why we won't let you and your sister go unsupervised."
"I'm sure she going to be thrilled to babysit two humans." I said sarcastically with a hint of humor.
"I'm sure if you become too annoying, I can have you as my dessert." Jane said with the most innocent face, but her tone was just as sarcastic as mine. Aro laughed delightedly, and then dismissed us.
Jane only smiled coldly as Edrawd pulled my sister closer to him, while my thoughts were elsewhere, on a very red eye, ruby, like blood.
